Memorial Day Weekend!

To kick-off Liv's first summer, the weekend was filled with friends, babies, puppies and BBQs. The highlight was Art and Lauren's annoucement that they are pregnant! Liv's newest friend will be making his or her debut in December. We are thrilled for them.
Bring on summer!!!

Future Bulldog?

Will our sweet Olivia be a future Butler Bulldog? Her daddy was reading an article to her written by Blue the Bulldog about his experience in the final four. As you can see, she really enjoyed it.

Namaste

Olivia is already a yogi and loves our weekly Mommy and Me yoga class. She likes to stretch, all while her mommy sings songs to her and tickles her tummy. Her favorite pose is definitely chair pose which makes her both smile and eases any tummy pains she might have. Liv is especially good at the relaxation portion of the class during which she doses off and clears her mind. Namaste!

Babysitting Boys

Last Thursday, Sam and I ventured out for our first date night without the baby. Aunt Meg and Uncle Bobo offered to watch Liv while we dined on steak, pomme frites amd wine. In reality, the babysitting was really done by Finn and Seamie. They did a great job! Maybe next time, they don't even need Meg and Bobo's help :)

Daddy's Sweater

Grandma Pat was thoughtful enough to save a hand-knitted sweater that was given to Sam as a baby. For Christmas, she gave it to us for baby Olivia. Such a meaningful gift and it fits Olivia perfectly. She also loves the bright yellow color for spring and summer. This is the first of many hand-knitted sweaters Olivia is the lucky recipient of- each made with love! (Her mommy wishes that she was as talented a knitter and could make sweaters!)

Seven Weeks Old...

Hard to believe that my little baby is already SEVEN weeks old! She's getting old too quickly, but at the same time I love seeing her expand her world each and every day. Whether it's perking up when she hears her daddy's voice when he arrives home or holding her neck up during tummy time, Olivia keeps me captivated daily.

Conservatory

Monday morning we ventured out to the Garfield Park Conservatory to meet Aunt Meg, Seamus and Saoirse. Liv's eyes were wide open in awe at all the plants, flowers and bright natural light. Her vision and awareness of her surroundings is rapidly increasing by the day.

The Friendly Confines

Olivia attended her very first Cubs game on Sunday! Her daddy wore her during the game...the majority of which she snoozed through. When she was briefly awake, her eyes were wide open in total overload/amazement at the crowd of 40,000. One could understand why she chose to go back to sleep. No matter their record, she's dedicated to the Cubbies and there will be many more games in her future. Go Cubs Go!!

Did You Know...

I love all things monogrammed and personalized. So obviously I adore everything that has my sweet Olivia's name on it. When we were deciding what to name the baby, I took into account what her monogram would be. At one point we thought about her middle name being Jane, but that would make her initials O.J. so that was out!

Bunny

Olivia was the lucky recipient of her very own "bunny" blanket this past weekend. Each of her cousins has their own custom made bunny, courtesy of my sister-in-law Meghan's talented aunt. Made with love, they are the most adorable blankets and Olivia is clearly already infatuated with her own bunny (which you might notice totally matches her nursery!). When I was younger, my grandma gave us our own bunnies that were practically life size and I use to dance around with mine. So I think it's very fitting that all the kiddos now also have their own bunnies!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy mother's day to all the mothers in my life! Such a wonderful way to celebrate my first mother's day surrounded by family.

Puppy Love

Did Olivia mention that she has an older sister? Yes, I am talking about our three-year-old yellow labrador retriever Penny. When Olivia was born, my sister commented on how lucky she was to already have a dog...something her kids have been requesting.

Penny has been a wonderful older sister thus far. At first she was a little nervous, but her love for Olivia is growing and she's very protective of her baby sister. We hope these two will have many adventures together in the years to come.

Let Me Count the Ways...

...I love you.

Boyfriends

Olivia got to meet her two potential future boyfriends yesterday - The Jansen twins, Jack and Cole! Even though they are only 2.5 weeks apart, Liv looked giant in comparison. Congrats to Kelly and Andy.
