Petting

Olivia is way interested in Penny these days and has started to try to pet her. Sweet Penny seems a bit nervous, but lets Liv tug and pull because it's all out of love.

The Portrait of a Soon-to-be Crawler

Miss Olivia is seriously on the move and we think maybe a few weeks from officially crawling. She's mastered pushing herself up on her hands and knees and has started to rock back and forth. There is also a downward dog move that helps inch her forward.

Solo Sitting

Olivia can officially sit up all by herself, for quite an extended period of time. Not only can she sit up, but she can play while sitting. She's very proud of herself (as are her parents).

Booties

Grandma Pat has outdone herself...these booties are quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. Pat should start a bootie business! I am jealous and have dreams of one day being able to make something that adorable.

The Budding Musician

Olivia has always liked listening to music-- we do it almost every morning or when she gets cranky in the car. We're signed up for our first music class which starts on Friday, so I figured we'd get some practice in with our new instruments.

Double Nuks

Olivia has gotten very skilled at taking her pacifier out of her mouth and putting it back in. Sometimes on her monitor, I see her scooting around her crib in search of a nuk. Such good hand eye coordination!

Progress

Olivia is starting to figure out crawling a little bit by getting her knees under her body.

Swinging

Olivia had her first swing ride at Wicker Park this week. She loved every minute of the ride and is looking forward to many more this fall! Her cousin Brendan did a great job pushing her high to the sky.

Go Blue!

Olivia is ready for the Michigan football season and is counting on a victory today against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish! Go Blue!

Ballerina Babies

One of the perks of Olivia being the youngest in the family is that we have tons of hand-me-down girl clothes. I clearly remember doing a photo shoot in this little ballerina onesie number when my niece Eleanor was four months old- so I thought it would be fun to do the same with Liv.
Such beautiful ballerinas who are both likely to be over six feet tall!

New Move

Olivia's newest move is like a full body push-up or a plank in yoga. I am pretty sure I couldn't do that myself these days. Impressive.

Meeting Cousin Sam

We headed off to Washington, DC this labor day weekend to meet cousin Sam Dillon for the first time!

At first, Sam didn't seem too interested in Olivia...

But after a walk around his neighborhood...

And a ride in their carseats...

Sam decided to wake up and play with his crazy cousin from Chicago (who literally stuck her tongue out at him all weekend).

Then it was time for matching pink and blue pajamas! They both weren't too pleased with it being time for bed.

We're excited about all the adventures ahead for these two little ones as they get older.

Five Months Old!

Our little Olivia is five months old today! Her personality is definitely developed and quite entertaining. When she's not smiling from ear to ear with her chubby cheeks, her tongue is constantly in motion. She's figured out how to suck her thumb and grab her toes. She can remove and replace her pacifier in her mouth. She rolls around and scoots herself all over the floor and her crib. She's working on sitting on her own and getting her knees under herself. She's starting to eat like a big girl-- and starting to sleep through the night-- such big accomplishments!
Happy five months of life sweet Livie!
