Tummy Time

Two Months Old!

Graham is two months old today (and is also celebrating his Aunt Meg's birthday-- 31st are great days to have a birthday!).  Life is pretty good for our little man.  He has a great smile, but you have to generally work to be the recipient of one.  He is starting to coo, grunt and chat more and more. His cry is as loud as ever, hence my suspicion that he is going to be a strong-willed guy.  All of his tummy issues seem to have resolved making him much happier overall.  He is doing great stretches of sleep overnight which makes his Mama a happy camper.  Even though Graham has only been with us for eight weeks, we can't imagine life without him and we are loving being a family of four.
Stats:
10 pounds 14 ounces (25th percentile)
23.5 inches (75th percentile)
15.5 inches head circumference

We've brought out the birthday ring with the number "2" to begin the birthday festivities for Olivia's 2nd birthday!  I believe in a week-long celebration for such wonderful occasions, so let the fun begin!

Balding Baby

Graham is having a serious bout of balding in the past week.  There is literally hair in his bassinet.
The front, sides and upper back are disappearing minute by minute.
And oddly, the lower back remains thick and lush.  It's an unique look.

Six Weeks Old

At six wonderful weeks of life, Graham's personality is starting to become clear.  He is a sweet little man who likes to be heard and held (primarily by his mama).  He has cracked a few smiles at me, but I haven't been able to capture them with the camera yet.  He does great overnight, going 3-5 hour stretches at a time.  We've even had a six hour stretch this past week- hallelujah! We are loving getting out and about.  He has already been to the conservatory, zoo and park this week even though he slept through each outing!
Doesn't he look handsome in his little polo?!

Soccer Success!

Livie finished her first session of Lil Kickers and it was quite the success.  She now can dribble the ball, jump over the ball, kick it into a goal, play red-light green-light, run backwards, stack cones and kick them over, blow bubbles, point out colors on a parachute and ride a parachute! Plus it was a great Daddy-Daughter experience for Sam to get a chance to see Liv in action in a class environment.

Taste of Spring

With temperatures in the 60s, we're getting a glimpse of spring.  Too bad it's short lived, but it gives us so much to look forward to in the coming weeks.  Hello parks!!

23 Months Old

Olivia is really becoming her own person these days and we are thrilled to have a front row seat.  She can be stubborn, silly, sassy and sweet all within the same minute.  Her language skills continue to develop and she is getting better at communicating what she wants.  She usually is very polite and uses her "pleases" and "thank yous" appropriately. Recently she's been showing an interest in sitting on the potty, so we've been giving it a try (even though all we've mastered is the sitting and flushing part). Since the fall, she's come a long way in her gross motor skills with the help of her gymnastics and soccer classes.  She can jump around like a jumping bean, do somersaults and log rolls, red light-green light running, kick balls, etc.
One of my favorite recent developments has been her imaginative play, whether with her little kitchen, her baby dolls or musical instruments.  It's so fun to watch her mimic behaviors correctly as she sweetly feeds her baby dolls or uses a hot mitt to get cookies out of her oven.
