Playing Only Child

Yesterday Liv spent the day with her aunt and cousins, then topped it off with a sleepover at Nana's. It was a little bit of a preview of what the days will feel like this fall when Livie starts preschool two full days a week and it will just be me and the little man.  And let me tell you, Graham soaked up every minute of the solo attention without his big sister around. No tantrums, no screams and just happy Graham playing around the house and loving running errands.  And although I missed my sweet girl, the day made me think of the time I spent with just Liv when she was his age and it was just the two of us. It reminded me of just how wonderful 1.5 years can be in that sweet spot between baby and big kid.

18 Months Old!

Grahamie-boy is officially 1.5 years old! He's such a handsome fella and totally such a boy in every way possible.  Lately, he has some seriously epic tantrums where he throws himself on the floor, rolling all around in a dramatic fashion.  It's hard not to laugh because they are that absurd.
And to counter his crazy-boyness, he really continues to be the sweetest. He's started to love blowing kisses to people, whether they are strangers or not.  While out shopping, he's constantly waving and trying to get every ladies attention in the stores. He gives big embracing hugs that are unprompted and plants big kisses on my lips. Every night before bed, he gives Liv, Da and me big hugs and declares "nigh-nigh."

Likes: food, music, balls, dancing, brushing his teeth & hair
Dislikes: drinking milk from cups, when Liv takes toys away
Favorite Toys: scooters, green guitar, balls, my hairbrush
Favorite Treats: popsicles (he squeals "teeeet" every time I am near the freezer)
Phrases: Bye-bye Da, hi dog, nigh-nigh Mom, all done
Favorite Habits: washing his hands, doing downward dog
Weight: 26 pounds (75th percentile)
Height: 34 inches (85th percentile)
Head Circumference: 19 inches (75th percentile)
Happy halfway to two my bubba!

Shakespearean Evening

We went to our local park's Shakespeare in the Park "Comedy of Errors" tonight. Even Rahm was there taking in some culture. Liv really enjoyed it and Graham enjoyed ripping up the grass and waving to people. And even more exciting was that we found out they are putting in a new park based on the Hungry Caterpillar at Eckhart this August!

Lincoln Park Zoo

Perfect day for a trip to the zoo with our cousins.

Bucket Boy

It's amazing the fun that can be had in a drink bucket on Jonah's roofdeck.

Summer Concert in the Park

Both of my little music lovers rocked out to Mr. Singer's concert at Wicker Park tonight.
And as soon as Mr. Singer asked for a volunteer, little Miss Olivia was up there immediately requesting to sing the ABC's.  Quite the performer we have.

Happy Happy Happy

Liv as a new tune she likes to spontaneously sing and it's a real hit that brings a smile to my face every time. This could be the new version of the "lucky dog" song that I grew up with!
