Uncork Winefest
Rainy and 40 degrees - not exactly how we planned to enjoy our first wine festival in Oak Park. But there was no way we were canceling the sitters and staying home, so drink in the rain we did!

Spotted!
Sam front row (wearing a salmon colored shirt at far right) at the Cubs game tonight. Graham found it very funny to see Daddy on the TV.

10 Months Old!
Our big baby bear is ten months old today! Cruising towards his first birthday, Quinn is happy, healthy and hearty. His chubby thighs are fantastic, as well as his full cheeks and constant smile. He's wearing 12-18/18-24 month old clothes no problem and even occasionally rocks 2T shirts that surprisingly fit his round belly well. He's figured out how to actually eat the food he picks up with his fingers and has taken quite a liking to bananas, mac n cheese, and strawberries. With his first haircut under his belt, he's starting to look more toddler-like than baby and makes me a tiny bit sad to think his baby days are behind him (and, according to Sam, likely our family's too). Finally he's sleeping better overnight, from 7pm-6am (with just an occasional short cry that I put a pillow over my head to ignore) and continues to be a great napper. Being the good third child that he is, Q is generally easy-going and able to go with the flow of his older siblings schedules. He has started to use his voice to make himself heard at times and his baby babble is as cute as ever. He's a very fast crawler, pulls up on everything and has started to cruise a few steps around furniture and his crib. He still has jelly-legs when you try to just hold him by his fingers, so we need more practice in that area. We're eager for him to walk so that his poor knees aren't destroyed by crawling outside in the summer. Happy 10 months of wonderful life Quinnie!
Science!!!
At the end of last summer, we found more caterpillars eating our parsley and put them into our butterfly catcher to try our experiment again. We fed them and they quickly turned into chrysalis. Then winter came and we guessed they were dead, but figured we would move with the catcher and see what happened. Science is amazing because this morning Liv noticed the butterfly had burst free and was in the catcher! We love nature.

Last Day of Pre-K4
In a blink of an eye, Livie's already off to Kindergarten and completely done with preschool! (Yikes- slow down time.) Our Miss O is independent, sweet, smart, curious, goofy, and filled with a tremendous joy for life. We're so happy we moved so she could experience preschool at First United where she made friends, loved her teachers and learned so much (she frequently was able to tell me things I didn't know-- like did you know, whale tails go up-and-down and shark tails go side-to-side?). Watch out Mann, here she comes in the fall for full-day school!
And capped off with a post-school party!

Last Day of Pre-K2
Hard to believe this guy is just now going to "officially" start preschool next year! Graham did so great in the Two's class at First United and really learned so much. He loved making new friends like Pierce, Ronan, Ruthie, Benji, Sophie and really adored his teacher, Mr. Nied. He's definitely ready for four days next year and we can't wait to watch his little brain continue to grow.
Post school park playdate!

Man-Bangs
Something must be done about Q's hair situation and the bangs he has grown. I thought as it got thicker it would push over to the side- no such luck. I thought the humidity might give it sweet baby curls - not happening. If he was a girl, a sweet clip or bow would do the trick. Hair products have even crossed my mind. Apparently Quinnie's hair just grows straight and fast. First haircut booked for later this week. Saying a little prayer he doesn't end up looking like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber.
