A New View

This is the view up through Liv's tree in our backyard.
On this first kindergarten eve as my oldest is on the verge of starting full-day school, I am more nervous than she is. Olivia is excited, eager to learn and make new friends, thrilled to take spanish/art/music, and filled with her usual joy. Sam has reminded me to not transfer my anxiety and nerves to her. I know she will do great and it makes me feel like we are doing something right that she is totally ready for this new experience.  Just in the last week or two, she's taught herself to tie shoelaces and memorized our address/phone number. I can't wait to see all she learns and how her sweet mind expands. She is my daily reminder to always see the light, even through the trees or when it's not always easy. Her joy for life is contagious and I am happy to share her with her new kindergarten world. I just hope she won't be tired at the end of the day to tell me all about it...

It's Happening

Huge school. My little girl.
School officially starts Monday but we got to visit her classroom today to drop off and sort her supplies. Liv said she was "a little nervous" and was quieter than normal, but she liked her class, teachers and we introduced her to a few new friends. She will do great. Mama might need a tissue and will miss our quiet afternoons together.

Night Swim- Part Deux

13 Months Old

Quinnie is 13 months old today and ending our summer on a strong note with one last weekend at the lake. Q continues to be a great sleeper, good eater and generally happy guy. He's got four teeth on the top and on the verge of four on the bottom. He loves his new skill of walking and is relatively sturdy already. He says "mama" and makes other sweet babbling sounds. I think he's working on dada and sometimes we think we hear it. He's taken to milk so easily and much better than my other two ever did. I am looking forward to our fall mornings together while the big kids are at school.
Favorite food: watermelon and peaches
Favorite book: "Who Am I"
Favorite activity: dancing and playing with balls
