21 Months Old

My big baby is becoming a big boy. He wants to be doing everything the big kids are doing and generally can keep up. He has started talking much more over the last month and is getting better going down stairs. He has started to play independently more and loves trains and cars. 

Quinn has become obsessed with his backpack and likes to take it with us every time we leave the house. 

And when he is told no and isn't happy about it, he has developed a signature face. He hangs his head down and scrunches up his nose in disgust. It's quite funny. 

Taking time to stop and smell the flowers. I can't believe my baby will be two years old in just three months!

Go Crocs

Livie's first official OPYBS tball season has started. She's on the Crocodiles, aka "the Crocs," with her two buddies Paige and Neela and a great group of little girls. The parents are very involved and seem fun too. They are off to a good start, 2-0, and more importantly, Liv really seems to be enjoying the girls, all the songs, the snacks and getting to hit. 

Herb Ladder

I saw a cool wooden garden ladder on Pinterest and thought it would be a good places to grow herbs on the new patio. So my handymen Sam and Jonah got to work...

Many beers and a few miscuts later, the ladder was complete and I was thrilled. 

After a quick coat of stain, I filled it today with herbs for the summer and Liv got to pick flowers for two shelves too. So happy! As Sam says, "Happy wife, happy life." 

Now let's just hope the herbs grow!

Caterpillars to Butterflies

Our spring break science experiment came to a close today! Our tiny caterpillars grew and grew, then attached  to the lid and turned into chrysalis. 

Then we transfers the ten chrysalis to the mesh net. 

And all ten of our butterflies hatched. We named them with our neighbors (Flyie, Flappy, Alex, Cooper, Sarah, Sugarfky, Augustus, Bob, Rachel and Flower-Orange) and released them in our yard today. Science is awesome. 

Summer in April

Feels like 80 degrees in April- out come the sprinkler and water table!

A Girl and her Tree

Since we moved in, Liv has declared the magnolia tree in the back as her own. She has spent every season in it now. 

And now she has started decorating, leaving the tree love notes, and taking tree selfies.
