36
Happy 36th Birthday to our main man!
Sam brings love, laugher and light to every day in our little family. Whether it's a kitchen dance party, playing catch with the kids, or making a delicious homemade meal for us, Sam always makes us a priority and makes each of us feel important. The kids' love for him is hard to hide-- they literally race to the door and throw themselves at him each night when he gets home from work. We know how hard he works to make our life so full and happy. We are lucky to call him ours.
Hope this is one of your best years yet. We love you!

"All I want is to be me. I am Olivia Maeve Elsener. I am strong, tough and smart. I am a girl and a first grader, but even though I am those things, it doesn't matter. I am still great. See you next time. Date/; February 26, 2017."

Resist
We've always taught our children to embraces differences and diversity. Luckily we are living in a community where diversity is an every day part of life, from friends at school to bi-racial families we spend time with. We also are not allowed to say we "hate" anything, especially people. So Live, Graham and I decided we wanted to show our support of accepting everyone and put one of these signs up in front. In a time that feels uncertain and unpredictable, we're trying to teach our children humanity, acceptance and love so that their generation can hopefully shift the mind-set of the nation. #resist

Speech
This special fella got an evaluation through early intervention today-- and yes he did wear his baseball helmet and fireman boots throughout the entire evaluation. I think they were shocked when he passed the cognitive and emotional aspects and gross/fine motor stuff with flying colors. They also declared he is the only child they've ever seen sort multiple objects of the same colors in groups like he did. So he's got that going for him.
Quinn did qualify for speech, which is why I had the evaluation to begin with. He was his normal chatty self with the therapists and they were impressed by the variety of his language skills, his use of pronouns and tenses, and the length of his sentences and details. Yet they agreed about the clarity of his speech needing some help. So we being speech therapy and hopefully some minor corrections and help with make him a little easier to understand.
