First Day of Pre-K4

Last first day at First United. 😢
But Quinnie is ready! He got up at 5:45, put on his handsome clothes and declared he was ready for school!  He even asked if I didn't have to come and he could go alone.

And Q loved the class visit.  New addition of four huge goldfish, as well as Gingerbread the guinea pig. He loved the bucket of cars, the play electronics and dress up hats. I am sure he will have a great year and the big kids have already been telling him about all the cool stuff he will do in Room 20 this year.

Fishing Finale!

Finished the summer of fishing with a northern pike and a catfish caught overnight!

The Damage

The tornado made national news!  This is fisherman Bud's brother, who lives about ten houses away from the cottage on Little Long Lake.
According to reports, "the tornado southwest of Hickory Corners happened first. It touched down at 7:08pm on the northwest side of Little Long Lake in Prairieville Township, just north of the Barry-Kalamazoo county line, according to a preliminary report from the NWS. It traveled less than a half mile, tracking northwest before dissipating at 7:10pm. With estimated peak winds of 75 mph, it cut up a path up to 100 yards wide. The winds snapped trees and their limbs, dumping some on vehicles and houses."

Here is some damage we could see when we took the boat closer to look-- crazy how many trees were uprooted!
