Thanks to Stace and her wonderful first event at the Lincoln Park Zoo- Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt!  The kids loved it!  And only at an event planned by Stace would we know the Carrot and Chick-in-Egg :)

Legoland

OWhile many of Liv's classmates were headed to Florida or Disneyland this spring break, I promised the kids a special outing to Legoland. They have been very into building Legos lately and we watched a cool documentary about Legos and also The Lego Movie in preparation for our trip. Plus Legos are just awesome and great for their fine motor and creativity.
While overpriced and with limited activities, they totally loved it. I treated them to each get a new building set, plus build their own mini-fig and fill a jar of pick-a-brick for home. And now we build a giant village on our dining room table!

Animal House

We may be staying home this spring break, but our house has gone wild. With a variety of animals, that is. We are fish-sitting Rufus, the Giles' active and suprisingly loud goldfish. We took home Graham's class mini-hamster Cupcake for the school break. (The teachers informed me she has been looking unwell and could potentially die…just great.) And our cups of caterpillars have arrived to grow and turn into butterflies as a fun science experiment. Fingers crossed, everybody lives!

20 Months Old

My giant baby is 20 months old and doesn't seem like a baby at all anymore (mama tears). In the past few weeks, Quinn has been really trying to talk and communicate more which is great. He's become obsessed with all things balls and loves seeing basketball hoops/baseball fields/soccer fields and yells, "BALL BALL BALL!" He's got a mouthful of teeth suddenly and his hair continues to grow at incredible speeds requiring haircuts every six weeks.

Quinnie is totally wild and loves to give you a crazy look and then barrel towards you, often being able to almost knock adults over.  He's a very solid boy (hence why I think I am currently having some lower back pains). I just got out all the 3T boy clothes thinking they might be too big-- but no, they fit him perfectly. At this rate, he'll be wearing the same size as Graham next year.  He's loving the bathtub and started putting his face into the water, which hopefully is a good sign for this summer's swim lessons.  He's loving playing outside with all the plastic cars and push toys, and actually is coordinated enough to ride on the balance bike on his own.
