Happy Easter!

(And happy birthday to Aunt Meg! And the first toast to Liv's 3rd birthday.)

The Bunny & The Basket

14 Months Old!

Graham is 14 months old today, both celebrating Easter Sunday and his Aunt Meg's birthday as well. His little devious personality continues to develop as he gets into more and more mischief each day. He has a great laugh whenever he's up to no-good and squishes his face in delight when caught. Some of Graham's recent actions pretty well describe his personality:
  • Trying to eat dog food by the fistful.
  • Rolling around the dog bed any chance he can get.
  • Sticking his hands into the toilet at any opportunity.
  • Chasing poor Penny around trying to stick his finger in places she doesn't want them.
  • Taking bites out of books, papers, and mail.
Happy 14 months G!  You are one sweet and crazy little man and we love you!

"All By Myself"

Between her new big girl bed and using the potty, Olivia has become little miss independent these days.  Everything starts with, "I do it all by myself." She also demands, "PRIVACY" every time she enters the bathroom.  (Sometimes the privacy is to use the potty, others to create water and soap creations in the sink.) While Sam and I are incredibly proud of her, there are some limits we'd like when it comes to doing things on her own.  For example, changing her own diaper in the morning when she wakes up (especially when it's more than pee).  And her newfound freedom has created an even earlier wake-up time for her than usual.  Within seconds of waking up, she quietly gets up and gets herself all dressed- this morning at 5am. Oh transitions!

Irish Jigging

We went out to La Grange this afternoon for some Irish dancing, beers and good times with our Murray cousins. Fun way to celebrate one of my favorite holidays. (Seamus looked like he was sent direct from Ireland.)
And Liv LOVED the Irish dancers.  Within minutes of walking in, she was on the stage dancing.  Then was totally mesmerized in the front row watching the dancers perform.  And the topping on the cake was when the dancers taught the little kids how to dance.

Big Girl Bed!

We will see how this goes...
So far there has been lots of shenanigans with the lights, wearing headbands and dancing around. Hopefully the excitement will wear off and she will eventually go to bed.

Update: Liv did great on her first night in her big girl bed.
She woke up this morning and declared to herself, "Hooray! I did it. I slept in big girl bed. I did it."

Hot Wheels

This is the only Mercedes in our life these days, much to the sadness of Sam (who now drives my old red Ford Explorer).

Potty Trained

Olivia is potty trained and it seriously took less than two days. Yes, I know there will be still be accidents, but overall she immediately got the hang of the whole using the potty process.  With just one minor accident on both Saturday and Sunday, she otherwise stayed dry and announced each time she had to go.  We've made it through trips to Target, Trader Joe's, ballet class, music class and school this week all without accidents! The stickers and M&M reward really motivates this little lady.  She is even now staying dry mostly during naps. Now she even demands "privacy" and does the entire routine on her own. We are so proud of her!

Snow Much Fun

If it's going to snow in March, we might as well have fun in it.
