Heaven

One of my favorite places to go with Olivia is a combination of the Lincoln Park Zoo, Nature Walk and Green City Farmers Market.  It makes for a delightful outing and every time I feel full of pure joy and remind myself how much I love spending my days with little Livie.

You are the sweetest, most energetic and sporty guy we know.  I vividly remember the night you were born like it was just yesterday and cannot believe how old and mature you are getting.  It's been a pleasure getting to see you grow up and I can't wait to see what SIX holds for you.

Jammin' In The Park

Along with Aunt Cate, Ellie, B and Colin, we went to an awesome free concert at the Welles Park Gazebo to hear Lindsay & The Shimmies.  A great time was had by all. Can't wait to do it again!

Pigs

Livie's hair has gotten long enough for two adorable little pigtails.  In the past two months, her hair has really sprouted and gotten long in the back.  Everywhere we go, we get compliments on how cute the little pigs are.  Love em. 

Miss Manners

Olivia has decided she prefers to eat with a fork these days.  

Meals are taking much longer, but she's determined to get a hang of it.

Tiny Musician

When Sam was little he played a tiny violin just like this one.  

Liv seemed to have the same talents as her daddy last weekend at the Old Town Roots and Music Fest.

Somehow we've already reached the midpoint of summer, but I think it's safe to say we are making the most of our time. Pools, beaches, street fests, parks, sandboxes, playdates, walks, swings, museums, lake weekends, farmers markets, zoos, etc!  And there are still a bunch of things on my summer to do list that we haven't even gotten a chance to do yet.  We've got to get to them before we run out of time!

Ouchie

Liv took a tumble running around the pool today like a crazy toddler and unfortunately her face took the brunt of her fall.  I am sure this is just the first of many ouchies to come with the amount of energy she has.

15 Months Old!

As Olivia turns 15 months old, she continues to take in the world around her on a daily basis and is learning at a rapid pace.  Her communication and comprehension skills seems to have tripled in the past month and at times I actually feel like we're having a conversation. Her toddler babble is constant and often is really sounds like she is speaking in sentences (even though I know that's not really happening.) Her vocabulary is starting to expand and others can actually understand what she is saying.

Liv loves to climb on all things, especially those that shouldn't be.  And she is constantly beaming pride about all her accomplishments. Literally she claps for herself throughout the majority of the day. It's very sweet.  I am loving this age and really enjoy each and every day Liv and I spend together.

New Words:  ball, daw (dog), bah (bath), uh-oh, whoa, Yah-Yah (we think that's Penny)

New trick:  Me: "What does a dog say?" ... Olivia: "ah ah ah" (pants like a dog)

Favorite Foods: breakfast sausage, pirates booty, water, ice cream

First sentences, or rather two word combos: "Hi Dada!",  Bye Dada!", and "What's that?"
