The Evolving Elseners
Spring is our serious birthday season in the family. Two weeks ago Grandma Pat kicked it off and this week is Nana and Aunt Meg's birthdays, to be followed by Olivia, other Aunt Meg (me), Ellie, Brendan and Saoirse! I wouldn't classify it as first words, but just this week Olivia's started to get the "mama" sounds. And she mostly says it when she's crying or whining, which is when I would want my mama too, so maybe there is some association with me. We shall see!
It was almost like she took crazy pills, but at least she was still happy despite being exhausted!

What a difference a year makes!
Poor Olivia woke up with this scratch on her nose. Apparently her mommy needs to do a better job on her nails...
Congrats to Butler on making the NCAA Sweet Sixteen!!! At this time last year, Olivia was cheering for Butler from the womb as they entered the Sweet Sixteen! (She decided to make her entrance just in time for Butler's Final Four appearance - see below picture). This year she's excited to cheer externally.

I am so lucky to get to be the mommy of this adorable little leprechaun on her first St. Patrick's Day!
Olivia has "asked" for a baby doll and stroller for her birthday, so we've been testing some of them out recently. She took a liking to this stroller pretty quickly as she literally cruised around the store with it for five minutes.
Now this is Liv and me...
Just a year ago, I vividly remember being super pregnant, counting down the days until my due date and dreaming about what my baby girl looked like. Somehow it's almost spring again and Olivia is on the verge of turning one. I am trying to soak up all her baby-ness before she becomes a full-blown toddler.
In the past month, Olivia has gone from taking a step or two to now fully walking. Each day she is starting to get a bit sturdier and increasing the distance she can go. Literally today she walked across the room to me! Nuts! She is always very proud of herself and knows that it's quite an accomplishment. And when you do hold onto her hand, she almost attempts to run. Although the walking comes lots of bumps and bruises, it's a very exciting milestone.
Olivia still isn't the greatest eater, but we're branching out and trying new things that she can feed herself. Waffles, blueberries, grilled cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, kiwi, green beans, peas, etc. Cheese remains her absolutely favorite (kind of like her mommy).
There is a lot more babble and baby gibberish in the house now as well. Liv's really got the "g" sounds down and is starting to get the "d" sound which has her daddy extremely excited about a potential "dada" in the near future. I find all her noises and sounds to be adorable.
Likes: Crawling up the stairs, cheering for Penny after she goes potty.
